exchange rate

I have noticed over the last few weeks lev [post office rates] gone from 2.09 to 1.98 and keeps going down slowly.Going next May,is it worth changing money now in case it keeps going down to eventually keep in line with Euro as it did in spain or hope its only a blip,Does anyone know

It will be a long time before Bulgaria goes into the Euro, If ever.

Rates are always better in the resort than at home.

Tesco normally has the best rate at present but we got 2.23 lev to the £ using our Nationwide card in the resort.

Today in the Bulgarian banks you will get 2.15 compared to your 1.98. Wait until next year to get your cash.

Just back last weekend from Sunny Beach. Absolutely no need to change money before you go as you will get a good rate with Crown Exchange booths. There are numberous Crown Exchange booths all over Sunny Beach. We got approximately 195 lev for 100 Euro. We were advised by tour rep. that there are only three safe places to change money, at your hotel, a bank or any Crown Exchange. Beware of anyone that comes up to you offering to exchange money.

The STRING exchange is always slightly higher than the Crown exchange and is 100% safe with no commission. There is a branch opposite the Diamond hotel and another by the traffic lights near the main bus station. There is also an office in the main street in Sv Vlas.
