I think I have read that the spice market is suppose to be fabulous in Instanbul. Would love any information on this.

hi jaz1625, I am about to go to Istanbul myself and am sure that spice markets are as fabulous as the kebab. You should ask the Istanbul forum - Sunny beach is in Bulgaria roughly 350 km(220 miles) from Istanbul which is in Turkey. I clear this out only because you are american, hope you vizit them both and have a great time.
