Hi- have skied Borovets for the last four year, due to our educational authority not allowing me to take my kids out of school outside designated school holls from now, unfortunatley we can not afford to go next year- January was the ideal time price wise for us but not now!

Malina is a short taxi ride to Borovets (i think about 5 lev- may have gone up like as everything has the last few year!)- or a decent fiveteen minute walk! (not to be done in ski gear)

It allways looked nice to us and we considered it but preffered to stay in the hub of things so to say.

you will have a great time im sure- its not as cheap as it used to be but shop around there are still a few decent cheap pubs an all.

Bulgariaski.com does some really decent advice coming up to the season

Have a good one

Hi

I%26#39;m part of the English Ski Instructor team here in Borovets. Malina village will definitely require taxis in and out if you are in ski gear - it%26#39;s about 2 km from the gondola. I%26#39;d suggest, after your first trip in, talking to one of the drivers and doing a deal on the cost for five days worth of regular pick-ups/returns. A good driver will give you some good discounts on a pre-arranged basis.

If you need anything else, my contact details are on www.theracebulgaria.com

thsnk you for your reply yes i think when we get there we might do a deal with the taxi for the week but do the taxis take five, as yes we are a family of four but we are taking my sons friend as well with us so will we fit in the taxis.

also we are now looking for ski wear what is the most decent stuff and what actually should we wear

many thanks

Hi Helen

Some taxi drivers will take 5 BUT if they only have a normal saloon car they should not do so. Then there%26#39;s the issue of what equipment you might have with you (possibly 5 sets of skis etc). I%26#39;m going to email you directly with my contact details so if you wish to call me we can discuss the options available to you.

With regard to clothing there is a vast choice. Depends on what you might already have, your own desires with regard to skiing and your budget - if we speak I can recommend some options and places to go to get them. But essentially you will need:

Ski Jackets

Layers under the Ski Jackets (better to go for 2 thin layers rather than 1 thick)

Salopettes

Good ski socks (wicking) and possibly liners depending upon your ability

Ski hat

Ski Goggles

and definitely a decent pair of ski gloves.

Hope we get the chance to speak.

All the best

Steve
