We are flying to Sofia next Saturday with Easyjet. I have directions to the villa from the airport, but these are a few years old. Is it true that there is a new airport, and if so does Easyjet fly to the new or the old? Hope you can help, as I don%26#39;t want to get too confused the second we start off on our journey to Ribaritsa/Teteven!
Thanks

no new airport, just a new terminal next ot the old one. probalby you will land on the new one ( number II) as bulgarians are eager to show off.

Excellent - thank you very much - I look forward to the showing off by the Bulgarians.

We flew into Sofia with easyjet from Manchester in June. Easyjet use Terminal 1. There is about 2kms distance between the terminal one and two.
If for any reason you need to go from one terminal to the other, DO NOT take a taxi, they will rip you off BUT there is a free shuttle mini bus. Just ask at the airport.

The thing about taxis is that they are only obliged to state the charge by km on a sticker. this means there are ones that may charge you 10 times more than regular and they are quite ingenious in designing their stickers. You have to REALLY look into. A big taxi company - OK taxi - has a contract with Sofia airport for exclusive access to the terminals. Still not far there are the fake ones. They are the ones that will try to talk you into driving you. Regular price is about 70 stotinki/km.It was a huge scandal when an EU commissioner (who is regarded as semi-God here) was overcharged by a taxi he took from the airport. Just be careful.

We were quoted %26#39;fixed price 10lev%26#39; by the taxis in Terminal 2. We had returned the hire car there and needed to get to terminal 1 for our flight home. Luckily, we were told by a kind gentleman, who was passing, about the FREE mini bus between terminals.

The low cost flights and charter flights land at T1 (the old terminal)

Thanks Everyone
