2 days in Sofia with 4yr old daughter - what to do?

Hi there! We will be staying not far from Burgas in September with our 4yr old daughter and wanted to make a two day trip to Sofia. Any suggestions as to what to do / places to visit with 4yr old?

Thanks a bunch!

an hour or two at %26quot;Kambanite%26quot; (the bells) monument of the Banner of Peace Assembly

I hear it%26#39;s not well maintained currently but the kids still enjoy it

Additionally, it%26#39;s something more specific and your daughter is %26quot;big%26quot; enough to remember%26amp;value a specific though tiny experience

Other than this, I can%26#39;t recall now nothing specific, just the regular things for the kids exist.

as well as you%26#39;ll be also near Burgas ...

You can visit with her the harbor museum in Burgas, could be interesting to your kid, as well

If there%26#39;s exhibition or workshop of the kids art studios of Burgas (especially the batik studio), it is worth visiting, and should be interesting for her

Hi StelaSD, thanks so much for the reply!

Any further info on workshops around Burgas, what to look for and where? Also any %26quot;links%26quot; to farms/zoo around Burgas that I can take my daughter to? She loves animals (don%26#39;t all kids?) and will really enjoy visiting local farm or the place where she can feed animals etc.

Hi,

I don%26#39;t have info of workshop schedules/places, you should pay attention to posters on the streets (I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll be able to read and 90% understand).

There%26#39;s no zoo in Burgas, they removed it many years ago as it was within the sea garden and this was found inappropriate (as far as I remember, as it was in my childhood).

The nearest zoo I know is in the town Aitos but perhaps it%26#39;s better to visit the Sofia zoo during your visit there.

I have no info about village farms around Burgas, there might be some but I%26#39;m not aware (never been in need to find one).

If you can afford a trip to Varna, your daughter (and not less- you) might enjoy visiting the Dolphinarium www.dolphinarium.festa.bg/en/index.html This will cost you daily trip.

On your way Burgas-Sofia, after Plovdiv there%26#39;s a ostrich farm and a horse base. Not sure if these are open for tourists. The horse base is used for trainings. I wouldn%26#39;t bother to make a detour for seeing the horse base as in Sunny beach (near Burgas where you%26#39;ll stay) the horse riding is anyway available and developed exactly for tourism purpose.

In Sofia, this http://www.earthandman.org/en/index.html can be also interested for a kid.We usually underestimate the interests of the small kids :)
