balkan air

Hi all,just realised that though we,re booked with First Choice,we are flying with Balkan Air.We flew with them a few years ago,%26amp; it was vey basic.No inflight entertainment %26amp; a truly disgusting meal(.We,ve been told the meal is free on this trip),%26amp; the loos were awful.Has it improved since 2005,or should we be prepared with plenty reading material %26amp; our own snacks.Id like to know as we,re bringing a 4 year old,so we want to have things to keep him fed %26amp; amused on his first flight.Cheers Joan

We are flying with Balkan on 2nd aug, the planes are much better though still no entertainent, food is a lot better and they sell snacks on the flight. Our grandson takes his DS with him, i usually have books and pencils for him as well. buy some snacks in the airport just incase

Hi Janice,many thanks for info.We are flying from Edinburgh 9am on 21st Sept.Looking forward to it,as its been a tough year for us,so have high hopes of some decent weather %26amp; relaxing by the pool.How relaxing it will be with a 4 year old remains to be seen!Will be armed with comics etc,though it will be an early rise for Tommy,so he may sleep.Glad we.ve got an early flight,but its not so good at the end of the hols,Up at 4am I reckon!!!Cheers Joan

I would double check that the inflight meal is free when i booked the Travel agent said it was free. But tickets arrrived and no infight meal if I wanted it it was £14 each !!

Hi Oz,was it First Choice you booked with?I think we will probably settle for buying snacks,but I will check on that.Im not mean but £14 is too much for any budget airline food.I think eating is just a way to pass time on a flight.

there is no free meals on the balkan flight its 7 quid pp although a few years ago it was free mind you it was crap. I tend to by the meal deal in boots the chemist its only 2.99 and you can mix and match. burgas ariport is getting more expensive so try and have something for the return journey

Hi Janice,I remember only too well the meal we were served.It still makes me shudder even now.Yes the Boots meal deal is just the job.We land in the afternoon,so we can eat a decent meal once we,ve settled in %26amp; got our bearings.I will alert the Travel Agent to the fact that the free meal isnt free.Cheers Joan
