Phone stolen - help

Just had my phone stolen here in Sunny Beach, made the mistake of getting a lone cab trip late at night and he drove me to the middle of nowhere and stole it. Been to the police but they had no translator either time and were pretty rude. Anything advice on what I can do? Also for insurance I%26#39;m not sure if i%26#39;m covered abroad and without a police report it%26#39;ll be pretty tricky to claim for theft. Am I better to wait until I%26#39;m back in England and claim loss do you think?

Not sure for your laws but I guess one should have police report from the local authority of the place where the issue took place.

Contact your embassy and ask them for assistance:

%26quot;British Embassy in Sofia on (+359 2) 933 9222 (main switchboard) or the Consular section directly on (+359 2) 933 9236.%26quot;

Note that %26quot;the Honorary Consulate in Varna is closed until further notice%26quot;.

I advise you to do so immediately as it%26#39;s Friday and the closing hour is not far...

Good luck

If your communication at the police office makes it impossible to dial from their phone, ask the hotel reception to call from their phone.

Ensure that prior calling to embassy you%26#39;ve collected the phone no. of the police office + the phone no. on which you can be contacted back.

To claim on your holiday insurance you WILL need a police report.

Are you on a package holiday, if so, your rep should be able to help you.
