Just returned from a great two weeks in Sunny Beach on Saturday morning and thought I would share my views after receiving some invaluable advice on here!
We travelled with Thomas Cook and found the legroom a tight squeeze but not too bad for a 3 1/2hour flight. The inflight entertainment was fine, we just purchased an adaptor for our ipod earphones at £1. The inflight meal was nice, chicken nuggets, chips and beans for the kids and chicken, potatoes and veg for the adults.
The transfer from Bourgas to Laguna Park Hotel was about 25mins, luckily we were the first drop off point. Check-in at the hotel was quick and easy and we were in bed 15mins after arriving. (I will post review of Laguna Park in the other section).
We went on two trips, the first to Khans Tent and another to the Bulgarian Village. Both of these were excellent value, we booked through Top Price Tours (turn right leaving Laguna Park). Khans Tent was 59lev per adult, 35lev per child, our rep was selling this for 79lev each! Great service from Top Price, thoroughly recommend!! Bulgarian Village was 45lev adult, 30lev child (I think), this was also great. We also went to the Aquapark at Nessebar on the free bus but found this to be too busy, couldnt get a sunbed and had to queue for AGES for the rides, so didnt really enjoy it.
Although we were all inclusive, we ate out a few times, mostly at the Far A the food was lovely and really cheap 1/2 chicken, chips and salad for £4 and pancakes filled with cheese £1, the service was good and all were friendly. We also had the obligatory kebabs late at night from the kiosks, 5lev, they even put chips in them!!
Nessebar was lovely to walk around, got the bus for 1lev and took some great photos, the views are stunning!
Although we did come across a few beggars, fruit sellers and guys offering to chnge your money we never felt threatened or unsafe, and found that a quick %26#39;no%26#39; was sufficient.
We loved Sunny Beach and will definetly return, although not to Laguna Park.
A big thankyou for all your help, especially Toonman, celticglenboig and mic.

Excellent report Mo and so glad you thoroughly enjoyed it.
Reps must make a fortune over the season from people daft enough to book trips through them. For the difference a family would pay you could have another decent night out.

Regarding FAR A (outstanding!!!!) the only way i can give my directions is from a central point which is centre near GOGO GIRLS. You need to be opposite side of road and begin walking towards Nessebar. You will walk past casinos and many outside bars (one with goldfish bowls set on tables) and an erotic bar. Just carry on walking and you cannot miss it. HUGE place with greeters dressed like sea captains with blue and white striped t-shirts on.....we always went upstairs......JIMMY the greeter is a lovely bloke. I will try and post some pics. I strongly advise anyone to go there.....FANTASTIC!!!!

We promised JIMMY the greeter we would post on here that you should all visit FAR A so if you do see him, tell him the party who he said he would kick his g/f out of his apartment for so we could extend our hol and stay with him, have made good with our promise....(G/F part was a joke but he will remember bless him.) Have a kavarma dish for me....like a bulgarian stew in a pot and 4.99 lev which is around £2.50.....only which the place, waiters, waitresses could be transported to the UK!!!

sorry that should read %26#39;wish the place%26#39; haha

Didnt visit the FaraA this year, But, last year BE WARNED...the prices before 10pm eg 1lev beers etc did not apply later when they advertised the entertainment inside. Go inside then, and you will pay 3 or 4 times the price.

All I can say is that many times we were in Far A after 10pm and the drink charges did not change at all this year. We went there to eat and it was fantastic, as many other posters have commented on. Can%26#39;t comment on last year...maybe things have changed under new management etc, but I was drinking 1 lev draft beers long after 10pm and I can only go on my experience this year.
