Traveller cheques will cost you about a 10% commission charge and you will get a lower exchange rate.

Best bet by far are clean, unmarked £20 notes which you can exchange free of charges in the banks, String Exchange or Crown Exchanges ( USE NO OTHERS%26lt; BE WARNED ) The exhange rate in Bulgaria is always higher than here.

Always use safety deposit boxes and never had an issue. A lot of hotels work on a 2 key system and the boxes are behind reception desk. You get a key and reception has the 2nd but box will only open with the 2 keys.

Follow Toonman%26#39;s advise. Travellers cheques will incur a further commission charge and lower rate AND you will need to carry your passport to exchange them. Your travel agent is probably on commission, so thats why they give you that advise.

Get a safety deposit box and enjoy!
