traditional folk night

HI all we have just been watching sky travel on Bulgaria and they talked about a traditional folk night near sunny beach in a village near by it has fire walking and everthing. we couldnt catch the name of the village but it sounded like it ended in varta or barta ???? any ideas anyone as it looked like a great place to go.. Was def not khans tent..

When you get there you visit a traditional bulgarian house..

If nobody knows can anyone recommend where we can go for a traditional night (not khans) where there is fire walking etc.

The place you saw was The Golden Barrel restaurant in the village of Bata.

Excursion called %26quot; Bulgarian Village %26quot; and last year Condor tours ( outside of post office ) did it for 49 lev as did Gala Tours, near to Iceberg club.

Hi Tara,

We done this trip last year.... I thought it was a really good evening ... You were able to walk around a bulgarian house before your meal....The food itself was not the best and some of the crockery was chipped but hey who really cares when the wine is flowing freely!!! After the meal there was a some Bulgarian Folklore, some fun and games including limbo for the kids followed by the fire walking which was amazing to watch. After that they played music so you could get up and dance whilst out in the courtyard there was a little old man who was helping the children make little pots....It was a long queue but my daughter insisted she wanted to make one, which amazingly made it all the way back in England in one piece!!!!

I booked all my trips over the internet before I went as I wanted to budget in advance for them...... When we arrived in Sunny Beach A guy called Martin came to our hotel with our tickets and we paid for them then....It was a good service and we got a good deal but there are loads of places in Sunny Beach where you can get equally good deals...If you do go to the welcome meeting please DON%26#39;T get conned into booking with your rep you will get the same trips but pay a whole lot more!!!!!!

If you dont want to pay you can go to the windmill on a thursday night and they do dancing and fire walking the food is quite good the owners are lovely and its proper bulgarian food hope you enjoy i am going back in sept with family
