Traveller Cheques

What exchange rate and commision to you pay if you use traveller cheques. Is the difference vastly different to using english currency.

Also the Nationwide card thingy does this differ much from exchanging english currency.

You will get a lower rate for TC and could pay up to 10% in commission whereas sterling notes are commission free.

Nationwide so far have given a lot better rate and best of all they do not charge a penny for the service, unlike all other cards.

WelshLady has just come back and will be able to advise on rates she received.

Average rate for cash was 2.23 in String Exchange but we got 2.28 and 2.27 with Nationwide Flex card.

This is last week in June and first couple of weeks in July.

Lower rate plus commission to pay with travellers cheques. Remember you also need your passport to change TCs.

Are there many cash machines where I can use the flex card and can you use it anywhere else to get money. We are staying at the meridian hotel are there machies nearby

also I take it you get the local exchange rate and not the rip off uk rate when you use the card

If you use a flex account card you will get the best local exchange rate. I have ALWAYS had a better rate given on my card than even Bulgarian banks gave.

There are loads of ATM%26#39;s throughout the resort including 4 on the main street close to the Hotel Kuban.
